UBC Therapeutics Initiative (TI) in partnership with the Nanaimo Division of Family Practice are offering a 1-day conference on Friday, October 2, 2015 (10:00 – 16:00) at the Coast Bastion Inn in Nanaimo (11 Bastion Street), focused on polypharmacy reduction in practice. The conference features presentations on the enhanced medication review process in long-term care, case reviews and discussion on a patient/family approach to medication changes. Participants will explore questions such as “what is the probability that an analgesic or antidepressant is helping your patient? is a statin, a blood pressure drug or a diabetes drug truly important for your patient? does it make sense to to give all patients vitamin D and calcium?
The faculty includes Dr. George Nickoloff, Dr. Rick Nuttall, Dr. James Colin Forrester, Dr. Cait O’Sullivan, Dr. Tom Perry and Dr. Aaron Tejani. This educational event is accredited by the CFPC with Mainpro-M1 credits.
