Podcast
Podcasts are an exciting new way of disseminating educational content. You can listen on line or you can subscribe in iTunes to have each new episode delivered to your iPod/iPhone. While unfortunately there aren't many good podcasts providing information on drug therapy from an evidence-based perspective, below are links to a few of the podcasts we like to listen to and which we would recommend to our users:
Podcasts from The Cochrane Library: Audio summaries of selected reviews from The Cochrane Library.
infoPOEMS: POEM of the Week Podcast: From Essential Evidence Plus. Each week Dr. Mark Ebell, POEMs Editor, joins Dr. Michael Wilkes, NPR correspondent and Vice-Dean of the UC-Davis Medical School, for a five minute discussion about an important recent POEM. The discussion provides additional depth and insight into the issue covered by the POEM synopsis.
Therapeutics Education Collaboration Podcast: Weekly podcast presented by James McCormack and Michael Allan aimed at family physicians, pharmacists and other practitioners but the content may also appeal to interested patients. Promotes healthy skepticism and critical thinking and most of the podcasts are presented in a case-based approach with humour injected into the process to make the learning more interesting.
If you know of another good podcast on evidence-based drug therapy please let us know.
