04 Mar 2013 24th ANNUAL DRUG THERAPY DECISION MAKING COURSE: Spring 2013
General information:
“Education should not be the filling of a pail but the lighting of a fire” – William Butler Yeats
For over two decades we have been offering this highly interactive annual course on common and new drug therapy issues from an evidence-based perspective. The scope of information is broad, practical and often controversial, thus appealing to professionals in family practice, internal medicine and pharmacy. The format is primarily didactic but 30-50% of the available time is allocated to questions from the audience. The scope of information is broad, practical and often controversial, thus appealing to professionals in family practice, internal medicine, pharmacy and nurse practitioners. In addition, and this is always mentioned in the reviews, humour is used to facilitate the educational experience. Typically, there are around 300-325 registrants of which 2/3 are family physicians and 1/3 are pharmacists with a few nurses/nurse practitioners and specialists. In addition, we strongly encourage the attendance of trainees – residents and students – by subsidizing 20-30 each year. The course meets the accreditation criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada for Mainpro M1 credits for physicians and UBC Continuing Pharmacy Professional Development continuing education credits for pharmacists.
The course is sold out.
