The presentation included answers to common questions such as:
- What is a reasonable starting dose?
- What is the likelihood of benefit?
- How long before I know the drug is “working”?
- Are higher doses likely to lead to better pain control? Is there a ceiling dose?
- How likely is harm? What are the common harms?
- Are these drugs associated with prescribing cascades?
- What are some ways to deprescribe these drugs, when appropriate?
Dr. Jessica Otte presented based on popular demand – attendees were asked to choose their own clinical adventure!
