MAGICapp is a core platform of the MAGIC Evidence Ecosystem Foundation – a non-for-profit organization aiming to increase value and reduce waste in healthcare through a digital and trustworthy evidence ecosystem. MAGICapp is bringing digitally structured and user-friendly guidelines, evidence summaries and decision aids to clinicians and patients. In this presentation, Prof Thomas Agoritsas will be sharing MAGIC approaches and experience in enhancing the Evidence Ecosystem at each of its steps: improving clinical research methodology, evidence synthesis, appraisal, guideline methodology, dissemination, access and use at the point of care for shared-decision making and an evidence-based kind and careful care.

About the Speaker: Prof Thomas Agoritsas, MD, PhD, is a hospital-based internist and health research methodologist, working as Senior Physician at the Department of Medicine, University Hospitals of Geneva. He is also Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Geneva, and part-time faculty at the Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence, and Impact, McMaster University, Canada. Prof Agoritsas is Chair of the Board & Deputy CEO of the MAGIC Evidence Ecosystem Foundation – a non-for-profit organization aiming to increase value and reduce waste in healthcare through a digital and trustworthy evidence ecosystem, to which he is contributing for more than a decade. MAGICapp is its core platform, bringing digitally structured and user-friendly guidelines, evidence summaries and decision aids to clinicians and patients. He has co-created and is steering the BMJ Rapid Recommendations, an international collaboration with the British Medical Journal to accelerate evidence into practice through trustworthy recommendations. He is an active member of the GRADE working group, as well as the Living Evidence Network Steering Group. Together with patients, he co-chairs the Patient Knowledge Association in Geneva, Switzerland.
